Engineering & Asset Life Extension

TEN's engineering division

LaGranja Glass Insulators

TEN's engineering division encompasses three critical areas of supply; asset life extension solutions, pole remediation products, and network line materials for transmission, distribution and substations.

Network line materials: TEN's Line Materials team plays a vital role in supporting the integrity and performance of the nation's power networks. Specialising in network line materials and asset life extension (ALE) solutions, we work alongside utilities, contractors, and infrastructure providers across transmission, distribution, and substations.

Our product offering spans everything between the poles and wires; from high-performance insulators (porcelain, polymer, and glass across LV to EHV) to a full suite of hardware including forged and fabricated fittings, vibration dampers, clamps, helicals, and compression accessories. We also deliver complete transmission line material packages tailored to project needs.

Our team blends deep engineering expertise with commercial know-how, collaborating closely with project managers, asset owners, and field crews to tackle challenges tied to aging infrastructure and ensure reliability in new builds.

Vibration Damper

TEN is the exclusive distributor of DulHunty Power products in the Australia and Pacific Islands markets. We also exclusively distribute La Granga glass discs from Spain, MacLean Power products from the USA, and fibre closures from Tykoflex Sweden. TEN is proud to have a volume of utility supply contracts for their range of network line materials, supplying both the market directly and through selected reseller channels.

Asset life extension (ALE): TEN's Asset Life Extension (ALE) solutions empower utilities to maintain aging infrastructure while planning for future upgrades. By extending the operational life of existing assets, ALE helps reduce unplanned outages and supports smarter, more proactive investment decisions.

Our range directly addresses key challenges faced by Australian network operators - from bushfire risk and steel structure corrosion to deteriorating connectors, transformer leaks, and wood pole degradation. ALE is about shifting from reactive fixes to forward-thinking asset management.

We are focussed on addressing the common asset management issues that the ageing electrical infrastructure network is currently facing, including:

Installed Clampstar
  • Connector failures (where the conductor has good service life remaining)
  • Leaking oil filled transformers and SF6 gas switchgear
  • Outage prevention caused by wildlife; and
  • Corrosion on steel lattice towers

Pole remediation products: With over 5 million wooden power poles across Australia, wood preservation is a key strategy in the asset management lifecycle. TEN aims to minimise premature pole replacement, easing rising costs and pole shortages, by targeting the following:

  • Condition assessment and treatment of wood poles;
  • Protecting poles from bushfire risks;
  • Pole reinforcement at the groundline and pole top; and
  • Non-destructive testing to determine residual strength of poles.
  • Greenjacket covers
