In overhead line work, web strap mechanical hoists are lifted off trucks, carried across site, positioned at height, tensioned and packed down — often multiple times a day.
Heavier hoists increase fatigue, reduce control during lifting and tensioning, and make setup harder in elevated work positions, placing additional pressure on safety and compliance requirements. The smaller lightweight design of Lug-All is often welcomed considering the limited space capacity available on a line truck.
As overhead line work has evolved, hoist design has needed to evolve with it.
The LUG-ALL web strap hoist solution
LUG-ALL state-of-the-art lightweight mechanical hoists remove unnecessary weight and bulk without compromising load capacity, durability or control. Through refined frame design and ergonomics, LUG-ALL hoists are lighter and narrower than older designs, making them easier for operators to handle on site and at height.
These improvements deliver practical, measurable benefits including:
•
Reduced fatigue and higher output thanks to lighter equipment
•
Better truck space utilisation and operational efficiency through compact designs
•
Greater control during lifting and tensioning due to improved ergonomics
•
Lower manual‑handling risk, supporting stronger safety and compliance confidence
Why this matters on site
When pulling and hauling equipment is easier to handle, crews can work more consistently, maintain better load control, and reduce strain over the course of the day. In overhead line work, that directly affects safety, productivity, and confidence at height.
LUG-ALL Web Strap & Cable Hoists
The LUG-ALL 40-A is a smaller, lightweight version of the 4-A, offering the same 2-tonne capacity at the same cost. By using a thinner width, heavier-duty web strap, the 40-A delivers equal performance in a more compact form factor. Side-by-side comparisons clearly demonstrate the size and handling advantage.
LUG-ALL also offers custom-built hoists to meet specific customer requirements, an option not available from competitors in the ratcheting hoist market.
Customisation options include multiple frame sizes, hot stick rings for work near energised lines, custom handle lengths, and multiple hook configurations.
Available hook options include standard latch hooks, self-locking double-action latches, swivel gate hooks, and eye bolt options on select models.
An inbuilt stress link is designed to fail before hoist overload, preventing damage to the hoist itself. Stress links and all major components are available as replacement parts, with many stocked locally by TEN.
